Our band, Black Totem, rarely come out of the dark, but here we are with a new release and a fitting video.

Now I'm going to use the record label promo text to present the release:

"Welcome to the haunted world of Black Totem!
Rising from the cellars of Turku, Finland, Black Totem attacks the general public with their second offering. Just when you thought it was safe to walk the streets again, “I Will Haunt You” will sneak up on you and cast you back to the muddy depths of despair. This riveting new EP triumphantly combines the sound of primitive garage blues with the lo-fi aesthetics of punk rock and pulp horror. Just as on the debut EP "I Brought You Back" from 2009, the backbone of the duo's sound is built from Spit Poison´s spooky dry vocals and the menacing witch drum of Tony Cash. The band even tortured the girls from The Seekrets and recorded their screams on the opening track. This is horror flavored rock'n'roll at its finest, and the three haunting cuts this EP will chill you to the bottom of your old shivering bones. For fans of Samhain, Howlin' Wolf, Black Magic Six and satan." - Svart records

Satan is ever ready to seduce us with sensual delights. I'm referring to the video now. Watch and enjoy!

Hour of 13: Lucky Bones / Razorrock Tapes LP

Lucky Bones- puolella on Mystery Tales- henkinen perinteitä kunnioittava akryylimaalaus. Razorrock- puolen kansi on Kroatian matkalta ottamani valokuva. Sisäkannet toimivat käänteisellä logiikalla, eli Lucky Bonesin takakansi on valokuvista koottu ja Razorrockin takakantta koristaa tekemäni kuvitus.

Here's the artwork I made for doom metal outfit Hour of 13's release Lucky Bones / Razorrock Tapes by Svart records. I just love creating album covers. Get in touch if your band needs one.

Annen ja Kertun synttärit

Annen ja Kertun synttäreitä voi tulla viettämään Turun Klubille kuun lopussa. Saas nähdä onko Glennu leikkaamassa kakkua niinkuin julisteeni lupailee. Lavalla Seksihullut, Lebakko, Throat ja Hot Visions. DJ:t Sami & Sami.

A couple of awesome girls I know, Anne & Kerttu, are throwing a combined birthday party at the end of this month at Klubi in Turku. It's June 30th with punk and sludge and hopefully Glenn cutting the cake like my poster is implying.

Treevil

On hyvä puristaa käsikirjoittajasta parhaat mehut irti. Näin tulee hyviä elokuvia. Nukkeanimaatiotamme on esitetty kiitettävästi Ylen kanavilla ja alan festivaaleilla. Ja nyt se on youtubessa. Elokuvan tuotti Eija Saarinen.

Elokuvan palkinnot

Best animated film, Zlinsky Pez, Tsekki 3.6.2004

Treevil is the first film I ever made, but I don't deserve all the credit. Not at all. This stop motion short film is a co-direction by Aiju Salminen, Aino Ovaskainen and myself. It has been shown on several festivals, on Finnish national TV and we received a bunch of prizes and recognition for it (see the list above). Treevil is a student film and we had the priviledge to work on the script with the Estonian animation legend, Priit Pärn, who was the artistic supervisor of the Turku Arts Academy at the time we went there. The film was produced by Eija Saarinen. Now the film is in youtube. Enjoy.

Kovaa Rasvaa 7"

Svart julkaisee Kovaa Rasvaa- orkesterin seiskan 9.5.2012. Tein tekstit ja taitot kanteen. Kannen maalauksen on tehnyt Elvi, 4 vee. Hieno maalaus!

Here's the cover of the new 7" from the band called Kovaa Rasvaa. It will be released by Svart May 9th, 2012. I did the band logo and the layout. The painting is made by four-year-old Elvi. It's one beautiful painting!

Logoja!

Moikka! Pitkästä aikaa. On ollut kiireistä taiteilijaelämää viime aikoina. Tässä muutama logo, joka tuli tehtyä.

Suunnittelin alkuvuodesta Ääriö- yhtyeelle logon. Hidasta ja raskasta soittava Ääriö- yhtyeen logon aineksina on symmetria, shamanismi ja karkeus. Maistuvia aineksia, mmmm. Pidän myös Ääriön musiikista ja odotan innolla bändin levyä. Tässä maistiaisia:

I designed the logo for a Finnish drone band called Ääriö. My design is influenced by shamanistic symbols, which I feel suits the band's sound. Check out the live sample above.

I also had the pleasure of putting together a logo for a small record label called Blast of Silence. This label releases punk and other underground music goodies on vinyl and cassette. Blast of Silence will be releasing my band Black Totem's next seven inch together with Hockey Champ records, Tar Honey records and Svart records.

Tässä Blast of Silence- levylafkan logo, jonka tuuttasin alkuvuodesta. Blast of Silence on pieni, turkulainen levy-yhtiö, joka julkaisee punkkia ym. herkkuja vinyylillä ja kasetilla. Blast of Silence on mukana julkaisemassa bändini Black Totemin seuraavaa seiskatuumaista vinyyliä yhdessä Hockey Champin, Tar Honeyn ja Svartin kanssa.
